Hope Fletcher Portfolio
Now finished with two trimesters of work, my project was finally a website with fully fleshed-out pages, but not quite complete yet. For this Professional Review, I was looking for feedback on the most delicate part of my project; Healing. Thankfully, I had twice as many reviewers as my last Professional Review.
My Professional Reviewers: Leah Van Gorp, my pastor at Ham Lake Eagle Brook Church, Joanna Mitchell, and Maria Markman, pastors at Grace Lutheran Church, Brent Schlosser, a Christian who attends Grace Lutheran, Katie Hale, one of my former STEAM teachers, and CJ Luck, growing in his faith.
Feedback
I had lots of feedback this round, from encouragement to constructive criticism. Everyone encouraged me to be louder, both physically and in a sense of not being afraid to share what I'm passionate about, what I believe in, and what I know is right even if I'm alone. I'm grateful for the Christians who gave me another perspective on my project from someone who doesn't work in a church, and all Christians have different experiences. The three pastors I met with had lots to say, from website design to how I word what I say. The biggest thing I learned is to be aware of the lens through which I view both the Bible and 'Healing'. I used to think that the base of this project was the Bible, but some of the pastors mentioned that the Bible says some questionable things (like like when Paul says, "Women should remain silent in the churches,") that when left interpreted through a certain lens can lead to people being hurt. I discovered that I view life through the lens of Jesus' love, and it's important for me to make that clear when I talk about 'Healing.'
