STEAM

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. STEAM is a high school program dedicated to teaching students skills that will help them create a better future. In STEAM, we learn real-life skills that employers are looking for and are encouraged
to be creative to solve whatever problem the world throws at us. While STEAM is centered around technological engineering and programming, the lessons provided can be applied to all pathways.

I love STEAM because the classes are hands-on (I'm actually doing something) and are future-focused. As an artist, I felt like I didn't fit into the program at the beginning, but now this is my favorite class because I get to work on finding creative solutions and making the world a better place.

Freshman

The STEAM classes I took during my Freshman year included making a Freakshake, Sculpting, designing a device to help a person eat without using their arms, and computer programming. The site linked is my original portfolio from 9th grade and it mostly includes the programming of a Micro.Bit. But don't actually go there, it's nothing, really, please.
